“Honest feedback,” polite nods, the occasional hollow compliment. A balanced appraisal that acknowledges your effort… right before parking you in “growth opportunities” instead of raises.

Reversed

Bias, manipulation, and backhanded compliments. Your successes vanish, your mistakes are magnified, and somehow Todd from accounting lands the promotion.

Corporate Symbolism

The Performance Review is the court of corporate law: one part judgment, one part charade. Promotions are handed to brown-nosers, while everyone else gets motivational platitudes and a new bullet point on their “development plan.”
